There are a few hipster trends that I don’t think I’ll ever understand – wool beanies and slouchy suede booties in the summer being two of them. However, there are a few things the hipsters have right. FRESH modern clothing store in the 9th & 9th neighborhood of Salt Lake City displays these quite nicely.
First, they have skinny jeans for both guys and girls. You know, the properly fitting kind that don’t sag below your bottom (another annoying hipster trend – or is that skateboarders? or both?). A few of their other great items are soft jersey tees, a nice selection of TOMS shoes (you know, the sort-of-silly-looking canvas shoes where, when you buy a pair, a needy person in a foreign country gets a pair, too), breezy and comfortable dresses and tunics, some stylin’ hats for guys/gals and some jewelry to complete the look. I especially liked their geometric-print tanks and high-waisted skirts.
In other words: if you’re anyone who’s anyone, or if you’re going to see Modest Mouse at Pioneer Park in July, you need to go to FRESH (otherwise, the steezy people will gawk and laugh at you). Okay, that was a lie. But seriously, you should go to FRESH.

Helen – it’s my pleasure! I’ll check in every now and then and get some new shots.
Yeah, I highly recommend it. I felt cooler just by being in that place!
Great photos! I love Fresh, but I haven’t been in a while. You’ve motivated me to check out their spring collection!
Yes – Definitely check it out! They have some great stuff.
Glad to see this kind of thing, that is, a good clothing store that waxes guy-friendly. It’s one of those sad, sad recurring themes: men have a tough time finding excellent threads wtih as much variety as the trendy ladies. The hipster thing is played out, anybody who claims hipsterdom isn’t trying hard enough; fashion is the shit! Slouchy pants started in the mid-nineties, a transition that carried over from baggy pantaloons to skinny jeans, i still proudly advertise my ass-crack on rare occasions, it’s just a by-product of excellent style imho.
Tip: Sho-lace string belt=skater blood, Bearded/beanie= Hipster blood. Slouchy pants, skinny pants, FASHION CONSUMES
