There are a million reasons to love used book stores…
- Buying used books is environmentally friendly. It reduces the resources (trees, water) used in the manufacture and shipping of new books.
- They’re kind of random. You might stumble upon something you would never read/buy otherwise.
- The books are cheap.
- Instant gratification. You don’t have to wait for your used books to arrive from Amazon.
- They build community by providing a central place for the exchange of cultural information (ideas, events, art, etc.)
Okay, that was only five, but I’m sure I could think of dozens more. Just take a look at these photos…see? I told you used book stores are random. And I love them.
